Botticino comes from the hills around Brescia in northern Italy. It is a warm cream to light beige marble with a very fine grain and only faint veining, sometimes carrying small natural pitting and light fossil traces.
It is the classic hotel and institutional marble, and it earned that place by being calm. A Botticino lobby floor does not date, does not fight with the furniture, and looks the same in the last box as in the first. Under warm lighting it glows in a way that grey stones cannot.
It is harder-wearing than most white marbles and it hides light traffic marks well because of its mid-beige tone. It is used for flooring, staircases, wall cladding, column casings and reception counters, and it pairs naturally with brass, walnut and cream plaster.
