Fantasy Brown is technically closer to a dolomitic marble than a true granite, but it is sold and used within the granite trade because it is markedly harder than ordinary marble. The surface flows in soft waves of brown, warm grey, cream and occasional touches of green, more like a watercolour than a speckled stone.
It is one of the easiest stones to design around, because it contains almost every neutral at once. It bridges warm and cool schemes, so it sits happily with both white cabinetry and dark wood, and it hides everyday marks well thanks to all that movement.
It should be sealed, and it does want a little more care than granite around strong acids. A leathered finish suits it especially well, softening the surface and bringing out the texture of the veining under the hand.
