Colonial White is closely related to Kashmir White and is quarried in the same part of Tamil Nadu, but it carries much less garnet. The result is a cleaner, cooler white with a regular grey and black speckle and only occasional flecks of colour.

That restraint is why designers reach for it. On a large kitchen island or a bathroom floor, the pattern stays quiet and even, so the stone acts as a bright neutral surface rather than a decorative one. It sits particularly well with grey cabinetry and chrome fittings.

It is a hard granite that polishes cleanly and machines to a crisp edge, which matters on undermount sink cutouts and mitred waterfall edges. It performs well outdoors too, though on a light stone we recommend sealing before it goes into a heavily used exterior area.
