Silver Grey Quartzite is the calm member of the family. The colour is a steady mid grey with only light banding, and the mica content is present but restrained, so the surface shimmers softly instead of glittering.
That restraint makes it the practical choice for large elevations. A whole building face in Silver Shine can be busy; the same face in Silver Grey stays quiet and lets the architecture do the talking. It is also the easiest quartzite to combine with other materials, sitting comfortably next to timber, glass, render and dark metal.
It performs the same as the rest of the family: hard, dense, low absorption, good grip when wet. It is widely used on driveways and step treads for exactly that combination of hardness and grip.
