Carving Series Vitrified Tiles

Carving series tiles carry a genuine three-dimensional relief in the surface, pressed into the tile and then glazed. Ridges, waves, fluting, stone-block texture and geometric relief patterns are all standard, and the depth catches light and throws a real shadow.

They are made for walls rather than floors. A single carved wall behind a television, a bed, a reception desk or a hotel lobby counter changes the whole character of a room, and it costs a fraction of what a carved natural stone wall would.

Because the effect depends on shadow, they look best with light washing down the wall from above or grazing across from the side. We tell clients that at the enquiry stage, because a carved tile lit flat from the front loses most of its impact.
